Abstract

This article aims to investigate the critical points concerning the absence or insufficiency of diversity and inclusion in the world of work, addressing the role of the State in promoting public policies with the aim of achieving equity and other constitutional values in this area, analyzing the role of women from a gender perspective as subjects in the world of work. The problem is limited to the analysis of the adversities imposed on women to be inserted and maintained in the world of work, and difficulties in advancing in their careers. The hypotheses are related to the socio-cultural role of women in the world of work, consolidating formal equality before constitutional and infra-constitutional norms, but without revealing indices of material equality. The methodology used will be a review of the literature on the subject, analysis of legal provisions and research conducted by the IBGE, analyzing the concept of sexual division of labor, demonstrating how the naturalization of feminine and masculine characteristics imposes on women a double exhausting workday and creates obstacles to their careers. The expected results are linked to the need for greater protection for women in the world of work, as well as equal treatment in the occupation of positions, jobs and functions, in the private or public sphere.
