In many cases, children are neglected during the process of separation from their parents. Therefore, the question arises as to what would be necessary to protect these vulnerable beings within their own homes. To address this issue, the current legislation on the subject was studied, as well as the effects of the suffering caused by the parents’ divorce on the formation of the character Júlia's personality in Aline Bei's book, “Pequena coreografia do adeus”. It was found that the paths to be implemented must be primarily based on raising parents' awareness of the difficulties that accompany separation. It is crucial to prioritize the visceral nature of children's feelings, as this is the only way the Law can effectively protect them. The work of François Ost was instrumental in demonstrating that Literature can denounce and unleash potential solutions, enabling the Law, in response to the exposed disorder, to fulfill its role of (re)coding reality. With this, it was developed an experimental literary approach in the 'short story' genre, which, in tribute to Júlia's story, emphasized how unwavering support from legal guardians can aid in the healing process and perhaps preempt the direct consequences stemming from certain marital outcomes.
